Before you pick up your fork, take a moment to pause and actually think about where the food came from and how it ended up on your plate. Offer up a prayer or expression of gratitude, or even just pause to take 3 deep breaths and notice how your body is feeling. See if taking a moment to pause helps you bring more attention to your first bite of food - the taste, the texture, the nuances.
