What a way to ring in the New Year. I was blessed to spend the first 6 days of the year staffing a retreat that started my transformation several years ago, Warrior Monk. A week of peace and tranquility, love and passion, turmoil and purging. A week of paradox.
Returning home, the whirlwind of life outside of Warrior Monk begins to tug at my skirt again. As I spent the day in busyness around the house, my son mentioned after dinner - "You're always busy working, you never play with me."
My first reaction was to disagree. After all, we did play six rounds of hockey yesterday. Instead I paused and smiled, thanked him for the reminder, and made a new silent promise to both of us.
