MINDFULNESS

For many people, just thinking about the word mindfulness conveys a sense of dread.  The thought of trying to clear the mind of thoughts and achieve a state of nothingness seems like an impossible feat.  But mindfulness is really just paying attention to the present moment, intentionally, and without judgement.  In mindful meditation, the goal is not to clear the mind, but to acknowledge the thoughts, feelings and emotions as they arise, and then let them go without getting stuck in them. Anyone can practice mindfulness, from the very old to the very young, and it can be applied to anything in your life - relationships, eating, parenting etc.

I have completed a year long training program with Mindful Schools, and I am available to teach their 16 lesson curriculum to kids (and parents too!) There is a wealth of information and research on the Mindful Schools website so I won't repeat it here.

EASE WITH PREGNANCY

From the moment I became pregnant with twins at the age of 43, I was bombarded by opinions, points of view, fears and horror stories from other well-meaning people.  I was told over and over again how hard it would be to birth and raise twins. Without the tools I have learned since the birth of my first son 9 years ago, I might have succumbed to all of the fear mongering, making the pregnancy much harder on me and my babies.

As with my other classes, your questions and unique situations (which you may find are not so unique and you are not alone) help to create the class. What are you struggling with? What are you anxious about? What do you need?

I will share with you the tools I used during pregnancy, including mindfulness, essential oils, energy work and fear reducing strategies.
